Janice was born in the parish of St. Michael on the island of Barbados. She completed her secondary education in New York City and went on to complete her post secondary education at Colby College in Waterville, Maine and State University of New York in Plattsburgh.
Janice has always been driven by a love for and a desire to always showcase Barbados in a positive light; which has led to her holding executive positions in numerous Barbadian Organizations. She is currently Chairperson of the Association of Barbados Organizations and President of Look Back Give Back Foundation, Inc. In recognition of her commitment to her island home, Janice was awarded the “Pride of Barbados Award” in 2014.
Janice is the mother of two, adult children and has ensured that her children are fully aware of their Barbadian heritage. This love of her heritage has been displayed in her commitment to having the Barbadian flag visible every year for the Miami Broward Carnival; thus, her involvement with Bajan Fuh Evah since its inception.
Janice is committed to being a positive ambassador for Barbados, mentoring young people and encouraging them to be a positive influence in their chosen field.
